About me
Hello! My name is Alec Brendan Spoor.
I am 27 years old and I live in the beautiful village of Joure in Friesland.
I’ve been involved in design and photography since I was 13 years old. It all started with my parents’ camera. I would grab my bike, take the camera with me, and start taking photos of subjects that interested me. People found my photos very beautiful, which made me realize I wanted to do something with it. My mother taught me about design; she used Photoshop in her spare time, and I often watched over her shoulder. I had always been creative and felt the urge to create things, regardless of the material – I had to make something fun out of it.
As I got older, I started experimenting more with technology and began building things. I also discovered Adobe Photoshop, where I could fully express my creativity by creating the most extraordinary things.
After completing my VMBO education, I wanted to do something I really enjoyed: design. However, to choose this direction, I first had to follow a preparatory course. Therefore, I first completed the “MBO Medewerker ICT Niveau 2” program at Friesland College in Leeuwarden. Since I wanted to pursue a graphic design education, I thought having additional experience with computers wouldn’t hurt. After that, I completed the “MBO Mediavormgeving niveau 4” program, also at Friesland College in Heerenveen.
Currently, I am studying Communication Multimedia Design at Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. My goal is to obtain my Master’s degree by 2027.
